Assignment 16A What’s Your Secret Sauce?
Five ways in which I think I have Human Capital:
- Empathy- I have a willingness and ability to walk in someone else’s shoes. I can often see the situation from the vantage point of others.
- Self-awareness- I know myself well and am conscious of the effect of my actions on others. I accept who I am and know to capitalize on my strengths
- Communication skills- I have tapped into the power of listening, creating space for others to reveal their needs, fears, gifts, and knowledge.
- Growth mindset -I am committed to lifelong learning and curiosity.
- Determination- I have a huge capacity for suffering in pursuit of a goal. This could be running a marathon, running a small business, 20 hour days as a parent, or entire weekends on the laptop for online classes.

Reflection:
Okay, so I feel like they have my eulogy prepared if they should need one anytime soon. I was happy to hear that these five loved ones hit on the qualities that I happen to find most important. I’m not sure what the market value is for finding the humor in shitty situations but I have had a load of practice on that front as my sister pointed out. It appears that I have had the effect of helping others see their own strengths, I am curious to see how that could translate into entrepreneurial development. The confidence part makes me chuckle, I often feel so ill-equipped and have to fake bravery until I actually feel secure. Perhaps that’s an important skill in itself.

Hey!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that you had such empathetic qualities. I can definitely relate. A lot of people see empathy and understanding as a potential weakness but we know it's a strength. That's awesome that your friends and family were able to see the qualities in you that you felt were important, because it means you actively work on becoming a better person. That's super admirable.
Hey, awesome post! I can definitely see what your family means about your sense of humor through your lightheartedness in your blogs! I would definitely count your ability to help others see their own strengths as a huge leadership quality. It will certainly come in handy when you're developing your company's core values and culture. Even if you decide not to be an entrepreneur, that skill alone will be a great advantage to any leadership position you hold in the future.
ReplyDeleteHey, for me I was unable to watch the video because they say they are private but going off what you thought about yourself those are definitely good characteristics to have in the business world. My favorite is definitely the growth mindset, I feel that is key when it comes to reaching your full potential as an individual. If you want to keep growing and always have a sense of drive you will be success and it will pay off.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, your growth mindset and determination are very useful in running a business and I believe those qualities will take you far. How lucky you are to have such great friends and family that are so close to you. Having those great leadership skills are not only extremely useful in business but in many aspects of life. Good luck with everything!
